Key Instructions for Students- One-Time Registration (OTR) on NSP is mandatory. Applicants must follow the detailed step-by-step process available on the NSP portal.
- Students can apply only in one scheme. Multiple applications will be rejected.
- Aadhaar is compulsory as per Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act 2016.
- The Aadhaar number must be linked to an active bank account (preferably in a nationalized bank) for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
- Bank accounts must be active and not minor/dormant.
- Students are advised to regularly track their application status on NSP using their Application ID/OTR and Password.
- For renewal cases, the option to change the institute is provided in the NSP dashboard. If unavailable, students must withdraw and apply as a fresh candidate.
- Regular Government employees enrolled in higher education institutions are not eligible.
- Scholarships under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs will be disbursed via SNA-SPARSH / IFMIS mode.

Instructions for Institutions / INOs- Assist students carefully in completing the online application process and generating their OTR
- Cross-check documents such as APST certificate, Income certificate, Bonafide certificate, course details, and institute details.
- Use the Re-verify option for defect-marked applications.
- Verify applicants’ employment status (students who are regular Govt. employees are ineligible).
